Elements of Learning

Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is embedded in our curriculum at Creative Garden Early Education Centres. Quality care and education is our priority with an emphasis on play based learning. We work in partnership with our families to ensure each child is able to reach their full potential.

The EYLF characterises the view of a child’s life to:

–       Belonging: acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the basis of relationships in defining identities

–       Being: recognises the significance of the here and now in children’s lives

–       Becoming: highlights children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships throughout childhood

Our goal at Creative Garden is to nurture your children from birth to school age and ensure all elements of the EYLF are incorporated into their time with us.

Kindergarten Program

Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program

All Creative Garden Early Learning Centres in Queensland operate a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program for children in the year prior to attending school.

This program is delivered by a Bachelor degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher in all our child care centres.  Our Kindy programs offer a caring and safe day care environment in which children can build confidence in their abilities, extend their skills and have fun whilst learning.  By participating in the Kindy Program, children discover new learning experiences and establish relationships that create a strong foundation for their future education.

New South Wales School Readiness Program

Our centres in New South Wales proudly implement a School Readiness Program into their curriculum.

This program is supported by a Bachelor degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher who works to ensure that each child is ready for their first day of school when the time comes. Not only will this include academic aspects but also day to day activities like packing their school bag and eating from their lunch box.

Victorian Government Approved Kindergarten Program

Our Victorian centres deliver a Victorian Government Approved Kindergarten Program for children in the year prior to attending school.

Kindergarten is an important step for young children and is strongly recommended for all children. Kindergarten improves children’s health and wellbeing, helps them to develop strong social skills and encourages a love of learning. Children who go to a kindergarten program are more independent and confident and are more likely to make a smooth transition to primary school.

Our Approach

At Creative Garden Early Learning Centres we provide a holistic approach to your child’s education. It is one which encompasses every aspect of the child and nurtures their development.

Learning through Play

At Creative Garden Early Learning Centres we believe that children learn best through play.  We provide children with opportunities to discover new things to allow them to make sense of the world they live in by being able to discover and experiment how things work for themselves. During the early years children learn best when they are in an environment where they feel safe and have confidence in their surroundings. Through play-based learning children are provided with the guidance and encouragement to develop their curiosity about the world allowing each child to develop to their fullest potential.

National Early Learning Years Framework

The developmental programs in each of our child care rooms are designed around the National Early Learning Years Framework. We draw from the three key elements that are within the child care Framework – Principles, Practices and Learning Outcomes.  Together these elements are used to create learning programs that are reflective of our individual child care centres and the needs of our children and families.  Our programs are designed to be flexible allowing every child to develop at their own pace and to reach their full potential. We understand that children learn best through active participation in real life experiences. Our child care programs aim to provide learning environments that nurture each child’s learning style in a warm, friendly and relaxed day care surroundings.

The aim of our child care programs is for each child to become independent, self-confident and inquisitive learners who have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and to achieve the five Learning Outcomes from the Early Years Learning Framework
