### Centre Manager

14 years with our centre

- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

“It’s a privilege to be children’s educator, support system, role model, and friend, working alongside them and guiding them on their journey.”

I began my career in early childhood education in 2008 and joined Creative Garden Early Learning Mount Annan in 2012. In 2017, I became Centre Manager, where I had the privilege of supporting my own service, the region, and other services within the company. My experience as an educator has taught me the immense value each educator brings to our children’s daily lives. I love teaching children to grow, develop, and become the best version of themselves in their early years. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their milestones and friendships blossom with peers and educators.
Children are remarkably resilient, adapting to changes in the world, their environment, and within themselves. We can learn so much from them if we take a moment to observe. It’s a privilege to be their educator, support system, role model, and friend, working alongside them and guiding them on their journey. I am particularly passionate about the creative arts and love sharing this enthusiasm with the children. Watching them engage creatively and passionately demonstrates their incredible abilities and investigative skills.
Attending a dedicated early childhood education centre offers numerous learning benefits, particularly in social and emotional development, which are crucial during the fundamental early years. Children learn best through play, engaging with their peers and educators, and developing language skills that prepare them for future milestones and school.
We have a long-standing, passionate, and dedicated team of educators and teachers. Our team works collaboratively to drive an enriching preschool program for the children. We are committed to building strong relationships with families from the very beginning. We encourage families to call in as often as possible during their child’s first day or week, providing reassurance and comfort. We strive to make every family feel like a part of our Creative Garden Mount Annan family every day.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Mount Annan Preschool.

### Educational Leader/Assistant Centre Manager

- *
Bachelor of Education (Birth to 5 Years)

"I am passionate about creating rich learning environments that encourage curiosity, investigation, and discovery, as I believe the physical environment plays a vital role in children’s learning and development."

I started working in the early learning sector in 2013 and joined the Mount Annan centre in 2023. I believe that all children have a right to high-quality education and care that supports their individual strengths, interests, and developmental needs. My teaching approach draws on the work of child development theorists such as Vygotsky, Montessori, Piaget, and the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which is reflected in our child-led, play-based curriculum. I am passionate about creating rich learning environments that encourage curiosity, investigation, and discovery, as I believe the physical environment plays a vital role in children’s learning and development. By providing a wide range of materials and resources, I aim to inspire children to explore, ask questions, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

### Early Childhood Teacher

Working towards Bachelor of Education

"I first began my journey with the centre when I was 4 years old, and I am now working alongside my former educators!"

I first began my journey with the centre when I was 4 years old, and I am now working alongside my former educators! I joined the centre in 2021 as a trainee, then moved on to completing my Diploma and now studying towards my Bachelor of Education.
I believe that every child deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, valued, and have a strong sense of belonging. My teaching practice is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), ensuring that each child’s unique identity, culture, and experiences are respected while supporting them to build meaningful connections with the world around them. I am passionate about nurturing children’s natural curiosity and supporting them through play-based learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and confidence. My goal is to help children grow into capable, confident learners who feel proud of who they are and excited about their learning journey.

## Our innovative early learning programs

#### Sustainability

We embed sustainable practices within our service, ensuring we not only reuse, repurpose and recycle but educate children on sustainability and their impact on the world. By engaging them in hands-on activities, we foster a sense of responsibility and appreciation for nature.

#### Inclusion

We create a sense of belonging for your child to ensure they feel heard and empowered to make choices, fostering their independence. We celebrate each child's unique strengths, helping them to thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

#### Digital Literacies

We run a Digital Literacy program for children aged 3–5, where they learn how to use technology safely and responsibly, including handling devices with care, asking permission before taking photos, and navigating child-safe apps as part of their weekly learning experiences.

#### Music and movement

Each day each class incorporates our RAMSR (Rhythm and Movement for Self Regulation Program, which is designed for children aged 2 to 8 to improve self-regulation, emotional control, and executive functions - such as inhibition and working memory - through rhythmic movement activities.

## Preschool learning goals

In our Preschool program, we support children to grow as confident, capable learners who are well prepared for their transition to school. Through intentional, play-based learning experiences, children are encouraged to:

- Build resilience, independence and self-regulation skills to manage new challenges and routines
- Develop early literacy and numeracy understandings through meaningful, play-based exploration
- Strengthen problem-solving, critical thinking and creative expression across a range of learning experiences
- Form positive relationships, practise cooperation and develop a strong sense of identity and belonging
- Build confidence in communication, curiosity and a love of learning that supports school readiness

Together, our learning environments create a continuous and supportive journey that nurtures children from their earliest years through to a confident transition to school.

## Healthy, nutritious meals every day

Our experienced centre cook prepares fresh, nutritious meals on site each day, drawing on a background in both hospitality and early childhood education. The rotating four-week seasonal menu follows the Munch & Move guidelines and includes breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. A variety of flavours and ingredients encourages children to explore new foods and build positive eating habits. Individual dietary needs are carefully catered for, including halal options.

Families are also invited to share favourite cultural recipes and food traditions. This helps introduce children to a diverse range of meals while reflecting the cultures and experiences of families within our centre community.

### Menu & Recipe Notes

**For infants**
Children under 12 months are offered foods that have been trialled at home. Meals are prepared to suit each child’s stage of development, including mashed, lumpy, chopped or finger foods.

## Personalised learning and inclusion

At enrolment, families complete a short profile to share their child’s routines, interests, strengths, and any additional support needs. Educators use this information to plan familiar experiences for the child’s first days and to begin Individual Learning Plans. Children are observed regularly, and these observations guide intentional teaching experiences that support each child’s development at their own pace. Learning plans are reviewed with families to ensure goals, routines, and strategies remain relevant and effective.

For children who require additional support, educators work with families and inclusion support services to develop a Strategic Inclusion Plan that outlines practical strategies, environmental adjustments, and targeted learning supports. Educators implement these strategies within daily routines and learning experiences, monitor progress, and update plans as needed, ensuring each child can participate fully and confidently in the program.

## Frequently asked questions

##

In Australia, sessional preschools are usually operated by local government, religious organisations, schools, private organisations or the community. They usually run during school term and school hours, meaning the program runs for 40 weeks per year, with most sessions finishing up around 2 pm, over 2-3 days per week.

Funding and fees for sessional preschool programs may vary, and meals are not covered. Age requirements still apply depending on the state or territory you are in.

The preschool program is also offered in long day care centres. Most long day care centres are open from 7:00 AM. to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday with flexible drop-off/pick-up times to better accommodate busy working families. Long day care centres run 52 weeks per year, meaning your child would not miss out on valuable learning opportunities during school holidays.

Nutritional meals and snacks are covered in long day care centres, so you don’t have to worry about packing lunches.

Child Care Subsidy still applies when your child attends the preschool programs offered in long day care services. NSW’s funding options for preschool can be combined with your Child Care Subsidy savings, making preschool more affordable for your family.

Essentially, there is no difference between the curriculums adopted by long day care and sessional preschool providers. They are both run by qualified early childhood teachers, and they all align with Early Years Learning Framework, focusing on supporting individual children’s development, interests and needs through play-based and intentional learning experiences.

If your child is already settled at a long day care centre, they have the opportunity to stay in a familiar environment, transitioning together with their friends.

##

Children can start preschool in the year they turn four by July 31.

##

An annual Government fee relief payment of up to $2174 is available to 4-year-old children who attend an eligible early childhood education program at an approved New South Wales G8 Education centre. To be eligible, the child must be 4 years old by 31 July in the relevant enrolment year and have nominated a G8 Education eligible centre for the enrolment year. Families with children who are 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on or before 31 July in 2025 (the child’s birthdate must be on, or between, 1 August 2021 and 31 July 2022), and who are enrolled at our Centre can save up to $515 in 2025. The pro-rated payment is applied monthly (March – December) to a child’s fees after any CCS has been applied. Children that discontinue in the program or commence after March in the relevant year will be allocated a pro-rated subsidy based on their departure or commencement date.
